type 250
DESCRIPTION
This seal is designed to have a tight, non-contacting clearance between the inside diameter of the seal rings and the rotating shaft. With our Type 250 design, there is a pressure differential between the atmospheric side and process side of the seal. This ensures proper sealing of the process from exiting into the atmosphere. The pressure differential between the seal rings is created by utilizing buffer gas. Typically, four seal rings are used but designs vary with each application.
TYPICAL APPLICATIONS
Best used in applications where temperatures and speeds are not suited for contacting face seals.
