Behind every seal we design is a team of curious, committed, highly skilled people making it happen. In this new series, we’re excited to spotlight some of the folks helping drive innovation across departments at Ergoseal.
This month, we’re proud to feature two new team members: Andrea Kuri, a Design Engineer on our Engineering team, and Oliver Solinski, a CNC Lathe Operator on our Production team. Each brings unique skills and perspectives to the work we do — and we’re eager to introduce them.
“I found Ergoseal in a very serendipitous way, as I was looking for a company in which my professional role as an engineer could have a greater impact, and I was headhunted by a recruiter right around that time,” Andrea says. “The company values resonated with me ever since reading them for the first time, and it’s definitely one of the main points that drew me to choose to stay in Ergoseal.”
Although she’s just finishing her second week on the team, Andrea already has a clear sense of her day-to-day responsibilities. “Some of my key activities include supporting research and development of new products and services, collaborating internally with other departments, customers, and consultants/vendors to determine functional, regulatory, and miscellaneous requirements as part of a project’s feasibility and cost,” she explains.
Andrea’s favorite part so far? Starting to discover the different ways in which everyone is involved in the manufacturing process.
“[I’m] slowly piecing together their functions and how they relate to my Design Engineer role,” she says. “It has also been rewarding to already be participating in a number of important projects and feeling assured enough to start making more impactful decisions.”
As for what’s ahead, she’s eager to deepen her involvement. “I am very excited to do more Engineering work for some of the most important industries we provide products for, such as the Aerospace projects we have going on right now,” she says. “I’m also excited to start working with CAD models more, as well as gaining ownership of more and bigger projects within the department.”And if she could trade places with anyone for a day? “I think it would be quite interesting to swap jobs with Tom for a day! He’s involved in absolutely everything that goes on in the company, so it might also be a day absolutely full of things to do and last-minute meetings and decisions to make, but that sounds like a great way to learn.”
“The position for a CNC Lathe operator piqued my interest,” he says. “I found the role and applied through Indeed.com.”
From his first visit to Ergoseal, the company and environment left a strong impression
“The facility is organized and relatively clean. It feels like a family,” he notes.
His day-to-day work is focused and hands-on, citing his routine: “Start up my machine, figure out which parts need to be welded/turned, do the setup, then run the parts.”
Oliver has quickly found his rhythm on the team, appreciating both the fast pace and the support around him. “Everyone is willing to share their knowledge,” he says.
Looking ahead, he’s eager to expand his skills by doing more setups and potentially programming.
One thing that surprised him early on? “Everybody seems really chill and comfortable,” Oliver says.
If he had the chance to swap roles for a day, he wouldn’t pass up the opportunity to see the work from another angle. “It would probably be between Andrea (engineer) and Alex (team lead machinist),” he says. “I'd like to learn more about the design process, programming, and different setups.”
Andrea and Oliver represent two very different roles at Ergoseal, but they share a common thread: a passion for meaningful work and a drive to keep learning. Whether they’re building 3D models or machining precision parts, their contributions help shape our success as a company.
We’re glad to have them on the team — and we’re just getting started. Stay tuned for more employee spotlights as we continue highlighting the people who make Ergoseal a great place to work, grow, and lead.
