We are currently seeking a dynamic Design Engineer, with a supervisory role as Engineering team lead, to continue and expand on our legacy of optimized, best-fit seal solutions. Key Responsibilities:
- Continually researches for new methods or components to enhance or improve existing products.
- Collaborates with engineering personnel, outside consultants/contractors, and customers; follows engineering action plans to facilitate timely and cost-effective development of projects; adheres to system of budget and schedule control.
- Participates in engineering services for preparation and drafting of drawings, product specifications, bill of materials, operation/service manuals, assembly manuals, and other documentation necessary to manufacture new and existing products.
- Participates in feasibility and design reviews and ensures product integrity via verification/validation as necessary (CAD modeling, FEA simulation, inspection, testing, etc.).
- Prepares and/or reviews engineering change requests; prepares and implements engineering change notices and document change control.
- Provides Customer Service, Sales, and Marketing personnel with orientation and training on new products, and assists with preparation of sales presentations, service/repair methods, and marketing literature.
- Primary Engineering team decision maker; responsible for determining assignments and best course of action for new projects.
- Performs other engineering duties as requested by the Director of Engineering.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering with CNC/general machining familiarity preferred)
- Knowledge and 3–5 years minimum experience in design and development involving rotating equipment (specifically dynamic seals, such as mechanical seals, preferred)
- Prior lead/supervisory experience
- Hands-on experience in R&D preferred, including test rigs: piping, sensors, controls, DAQ, etc.
- Knowledge and experience in drafting software (SOLIDWORKS preferred)
- Knowledge and experience in FEA simulation software preferred
- Knowledge and experience in office productivity software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. (basic typing skills expected)
