The Strategic Account Manager

Overview: The Strategic Account Manager will be adept at both "farming" existing accounts and "hunting" for new business opportunities within assigned existing accounts and to ensure long-term customer satisfaction and growth. This role involves driving sales growth by building and maintaining relationships with clients within a specific assigned territory. A successful candidate will be proactive in identifying new sales opportunities within assigned territory and skilled in nurturing ongoing client relationships. Candidate will have a strong understanding of the manufacturing industry, with a preference for industrial seal design space and a proven track record in business development and generating new business.

The Strategic Account Manager brings the following responsibilities to the Ergoseal Team:

Key Activities:

  • Proactively seek out and engage potential new opportunities with existing clients through cold calling, networking, and social media.

  • Control the sales process by leading all conversations related to design, manufacture, testing, and quality control for the parts, including making sure that the appropriate operational team members are briefed and prepared for all interactions with existing or prospective clients.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to ensure ongoing orders, develop new opportunities, satisfaction, and loyalty.

  • Attend industry conferences and trade shows to represent the company and generate new business leads.

  • Collaborate with the sales, marketing, and operations team to develop and implement effective sales strategies for both new and existing clients.

  • Prepare and deliver sales reports, forecasts, and presentations to management.

  • Timely and accurately update CRM (HubSpot) and utilize lead generation and artificial intelligence tools (Knowledge.ai).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and pursue new sales opportunities within assigned client base.

  • Understand existing clients’ needs and provide appropriate product solutions.

  • Negotiate contracts and close sales agreements.

  • Meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.

  • Stay up to date with industry trends, competitor activities, and product knowledge.

  • Provide excellent post-sale support to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.

  • Utilize CRM software to manage and track sales activities and customer interactions.

  • Adherence to all Ergoseal BMS requirements

  • Sales Revenue: Achieving and exceeding existing sales exceeding revenue targets for existing clients and securing new net purchase orders for seals from existing and prospective clients.

  • Customer Acquisition: Number of new customers acquired within a specific period.

  • Customer Retention: Maintaining and growing relationships with existing customers.

  • Sales Conversion Rate: Percentage of leads converted into sales.

  • Client Satisfaction: Feedback from clients regarding their satisfaction with the sales process and support.

  • Client Referrals: Establish one (1) new client referral that will speak to our work each quarter

Essential Physical and Cognitive Job Functions:

  • Ability to travel to meet clients and attend events as needed.

  • Capacity to stand or sit for extended periods during presentations or meetings.

  • Occasionally lift and carry promotional materials and products (up to twenty pounds).

  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to analyze market trends and customer data to inform sales strategies.

  • Problem-Solving: Aptitude for identifying challenges and developing effective solutions.

  • Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy in sales reporting and contract management.

  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adjust strategies and approaches based on market changes and customer feedback.

Qualifications:

  • Legally able to be employed in the United States.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Sales and or 5 years working sales experience.

  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred.

  • Familiar with Business-to-Business manufacturing sales with a preference within the seal space.

  • Good driving record.

  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen.

  • Understand and be able to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint programs.

  • Must speak and understand the English language.

  • Demonstrated record of quota attainment.

  • Successful B2B sales background.

  • Proven experience as a Sales Representative or in a similar sales role.

  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite and sales analytics tools.

  • Desire to work in an environment that rewards results and performance and maintains high ethical standards.

  • Self-starter able to successfully operate with limited management supervision.

  • Outgoing personality can develop a network of referral partners to facilitate growth.

  • Ability to work as part of a team to develop and close accounts.

  • The ability to clearly articulate business value that customers will derive.
