Seal Types

Type 1 or 2

RB10 (E1)

Known for exceptional performance this full convolution elastomer bellows seal is an industry workhorse.

FEATURES

  • Design eliminates slippage, which protects the shaft and sleeve from wear
  • Automatic adjustment to compensate for wear and other concerns like abnormal shaft play and run-out
  • Designed with special balancing for reducing wear at higher pressure and speeds
  • Typically used in process pumps and other rotating equipment

PARAMETERS

Pressure: 425 psi

Temperature: -40°F to 400°F/-40°C to 205°C (depending on materials used)

Type 1 or 2

RB1A (E2)

RB1A seals are available in single, double or balanced configurations to suit your specific needs.

FEATURES

  • Designed with a drive band and notches that prevent excessive stress of the bellows
  • Eliminates slippage
  • Non-clogging design increases dependability
  • Typically used in process pumps and other rotating equipment

PARAMETERS

  • Pressure: 420 psi
  • Temperature: -40°F to 400°F/-40°C to 205°C (depending on materials used)
  • Speed: Varies
E21 Seal

RB1C (E21)

The RB1C mechanical seal is the industry standard for OEM designers, particularly when durability and equipment tolerances are a concern.

FEATURES

  • Drive band design prevents overstressing the elastomer bellows
  • Single-coil spring and non-clogging design is more dependable than multiple-spring counterparts
  • Typical uses include process pumps and other rotating equipment

PARAMETERS

Pressure: 150 psi

Temperature: -40°F to 400°F/-40°C to 205°C (depending on materials used)

Speed: Up to 2500fpm/13m/s, depending on configuration and shaft size

E2100 Seal

RB1D (E2100)

This completely unitized, heavy duty seal is made for demanding applications where durability and performance are key concerns.

FEATURES

  • Unitized for easy installation and replacement.
  • Pressure-supported design will not fold or crease under high pressure.
  • Single-coil, non-clogging spring design keeps  seal faces tracking properly
  • Interlocking tangs alleviate slippage or breaking free
  • Typically used in process pumps and other rotating equipment
  • Face load 50-75% less than spring seal
  • Short axial length
  • Reduced friction on seal face lowers heat and wear resulting in longer seal lifespan

PARAMETERS

  • Pressure: 290 psi
  • Temperature: -40°F to 400°F/-40°C to 205°C (depending on materials used)
  • Speed: 3000fpm
E6 Seal

RB1B (E6)

This unitized seal head is ideal for small-diameter pumps where compact size is a must.

FEATURES

  • Unitized design means easy replacement and efficient production line installation
  • Elastomer drive ring provides positive sealing and drive without using drive pins or set screws
  • Ferrules and coil spring keep face loading consistent, even in extreme conditions
  • Typically used in process pumps and other rotating equipment

PARAMETERS

Pressure: 7.20 psi ID; 75 psi OD

Temperature: -40°F to 400°F/-40°C to 205°C (depending on materials used)

Speed: 1000fpm/5m/s
Up to 3600 rpm, depending on configuration and shaft size

E6A Seal

SB10 (E6A)

These compact, single-spring seals are an ideal solution for small centrifugal water pumps, and other submersible pumps.

FEATURES

  • Broad range of applications
  • Design allows full convolution bellows for maximum flexibility to deal with shaft movement and wear.
  • Spring oil for consistent face loading, even in harsh or extreme conditions.
  • Torsional stress is limited by dent and groove positive drive configuration.
  • Can tolerate higher operating speeds than similar rotating seal head configurations due to rotating mating ring.

PARAMETERS

Pressure:  7.20 psi ID; 75 psi OD

Temperature: -40˚C to +205˚C/-40˚F to +400˚F (depending on materials used)

Speed: Up to. 2500 fpm; Up to 10,000 rpm (depending on seal size and face materials)
